The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader Official Traile...

Bargains

I stopped by the local Big Lots store today and scored a big bargain. They had beautiful rubber stamps and inks for $1 each. I bought all of the good ones. How can a card-maker pass that up! I haven't done any stamping on my cards because the stamps are expensive......and so is good ink or dye. So now I am looking forward to some stampin good fun tonight! My dining room table is my studio so it is a mess with flip flops and all those decorations for the flops. Also a bunch of scrapping papers and handmade paper, ribbon and all sorts of things that I find once I start moving things about.

The Etsy shop is doing great. As a new seller I feel it is good because I am getting about one sale each week. I would like to latch onto that ONE thing that would sell like hotcakes! I have ideas and will keep trying! I'll get it someday.  :-)

My Etsy Connection

I am having a lot of fun on Etsy. I haven't sold a lot of items...only 5, but it is fun indeed when a sale is made. It is more like another job than I ever expected. There is finding or making the items, taking pictures, cropping the pictures, writing the description, making a price and of course uploading the pics and finalizing the listing. It takes a lot of time when you are listing several things. I'm working on accessories now. I am embellishing flip flops, making them swap flops that the strap can be changed., and starting on hairbands and whatever else I can come up with. I feel like I have spend my whole vacation working. :-)

Trying something new

I finally have opened an Etsy shop! I am back to making jewelry and other crafts to post in my shop which is called MyTreasureShoppe. There just aren't enough hours in my week to create the things that I want to. I can't wait to get back to my work area Monday!

Is Spring here yet?

The weather is so nice. We are going to have high 50'sF days up to 62 degrees for the next ten days! Of course the evenings will be colder. But I don't mind. I can't believe the warm weather will stay. I hope I am wrong.
Spring...break out the pretty flower colored nail polishes and self tanner! I bought my first bottle of the new China Glaze spring collection Up and Away. I got the very daring Sugar High. Now this is pink to the max. :)

I've read many excellent reviews of a self tanner available at Sally Beauty Supply. It's 12.99 but is supposed to be great and no orange hue. I am fair and I like to have a bit of color in the summer but don't want to do the tanners or be out in the sun too long. If there is a promising self tanner out there that I haven't used, I'll go for it.

My week is over. Friday is when I start my work week. I work a 3 day work week of long days. I like being home all week though...wouldn't anybody?

Life

A new week ahead. We are gettting closer to Spring! Yay. I love you March!!

This week I have to get some planned projects done. I have to get out my sewing machine and go to town. I have saved some old t-shirts of mine and my mom's to cut into pieces and sew into a scarf. I saw this somewhere and it seemed just perfect for me. I always have to have a scarf in cold weather and here are all of these t-shirts with nothing else to do! I have some couch cushion slip covers that I must get done. They will be a beautiful signal for spring.

I am trying to find the little pots that we bought last year to start tomato seeds in. I want to have my tomatoes ready to put out early this year.

What I do

In a later entry I'll show off some of the jewelry I have made. I enjoy making craft and art items. I have crafted forever it seems. I have made dolls, made soft- sculpted dolls, clowns. I made some original dolls at the request of my mother. She wanted an Amish doll, a Native American doll and a Pioneer Girl doll. I also made the clothing for them. I had no patterns for these...I just made them. That is really something I would like to enter back into....the world of doll making.

I also enjoy making my own cards for special occasions. I bought a cuttlebug die cutter so I can add more flourish to my cards. I would rather have a Cricut, but until I am making a large amount of cards at a time, I don't see the real need.

My first blog

This is my first blog here. I have written on Myspace and the old Yahoo360, which was my favorite. As usual with a new account I am lost in cyber space.

This past week has been a wreck and I hope I never have another like so. I like my quiet life and when people try to drown me in their drama I just don't want it.

I am a good listener and if you have a legitimate complaint or just want to talk, I always be there.
